Want to participate in this National CanSat Competition?
CanSat is a challenge in which students must build and launch a mini-satellite the size of a soda can. A CanSat is a simulation of a real satellite, integrated into the volume and shape of a soda can. The challenge for the students is to fit all the major subsystems found in a satellite, such as power, sensors and a communication system, into this very small space – don’t forget to include the parachute! The CanSat must be recovered safely.
When the CanSat is ready, it is launched to an altitude of about one kilometre. Then its mission begins. During the fall, a scientific experiment and/or a technology demonstration is performed in addition to achieving a safe landing and analysing the data collected via radio messages.
CanSat Spain is divided into 3 phases: Regional Phase, distributed in the different Autonomous Communities of Spain; in this first phase the representative of that Community is selected for the second stage: the National Phase; and finally the International Phase, which is attended by the National winning team representing Spain.
